Thank you for visiting my teaching portfolio for Art Education.

A Short Bio

My roots run deep in Tidewater. Born and raised in Chesapeake, I experienced a wonderful education in the public school system while enjoying the local scenery, such as the beach, wetlands and everything in between. I went away to the mountains for college and spent a few years just a few hours north of here and now I have come home to my family and the Tidewater area.

I obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts from James Madison University in 1997. My major was Studio Arts with a concentration in Weaving and Textile Design, and my minor was Art History.

Currently, I am working on my Virginia Teaching Licensure in Art Education K -12 at Old Dominion University. My expected completion date is May 2008.

You will find in this publication my resume, my philosophy of teaching,  my thoughts on behavior management, examples of lesson plans from my student teaching experiences, as well as art from both my students and myself. The trip has been a long one and well worth the effort.

I look forward to teaching in the Tidewater area and giving back to the community that helped me find and reach my potential in life.

Thank you again for viewing my portfolio. I hope you enjoy!
